Filling out a French real estates wealth tax return can be tricky if you’ve never filled one out before, or if you’ve only recently fallen into the tax bracket. That’s where Elitax can help.
We’ll look at your circumstances during our free initial 30-minute consultation, identify your needs and help you write up a watertight wealth tax return.
Using our simple five-step process, we make tax returns simple, regardless of the complexity of your situation. Our process for the real estates wealth tax return service is as follows:
We guarantee all real estate wealth tax returns prepared by us, as long as these are submitted without any alterations to the final versions we fill out. We do not guarantee real estate wealth tax returns in cases where information has not been supplied or has been incorrectly given or withheld.
Individuals who are tax residents of France, regardless of nationality, are subject to real estate wealth tax if the value of their worldwide real estate assets is over €1,300,000.
If you are in this situation, you must file an annual real estate wealth tax return with the French Tax Administration — and Elitax is here to help you with exactly that.
To fill out your wealth tax return, you need to know which category you are in first. If you’re unsure where you lie, please feel free to contact us and we’ll help you find out.
Category 1 – You earn no income and your real estate wealth exceeds €1,300,000 but is less than €2,570,000:
You only need to file a French real estate wealth tax return.
Category 2 – You earn income and your real estate wealth exceeds €1,300,000 but is less than €2,570,000:
You need to file an integrated income and real estate wealth tax return.
Category 3 – You earn income and your real estate wealth exceeds €2,570,000:
You need to file two returns (an income tax return and a separate real estate wealth tax return).
We’ve helped hundreds of clients resolve their tax issues.
Thank you Elitax for providing such a no fuss, friendly and efficient service. We have used Elitax for 3 years now and would not hesitate to recommend them.
I am a United States citizen who has lived in France since 2004. I currently have a “titre de séjour, résident de longue durée” which will be valid until 2026. Elitax has prepared my French income tax return for me since I arrived in France more than thirteen years ago, and I have always been extremely satisfied with their work. I expect to remain a client of Elitax indefinitely.
The tax law is admittedly complicated for a foreigner living in France, it is comforting knowing that a professional like Eliane and her team are on the job. They delivered on all aspects; alwaysprofessional, client focused and with a smile on their face. A pure pleasure doing business with Elitax!
Neither my employer nor I had any experience with detached employee contracts. In my first few months moving from Paris to New York, we discovered many gaps in social protection and unexpected higher taxation obligations. The counsel we received from Elitax helped frame our choices, and enabled us to put everything in order. My company was smarter for the next set of expat assignments. Thanks, Elitax!
